NATIVE TEXAS WILDLIFE IN NEW BRAUNFELS AND THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY: As our guest, you can enjoy a little taste of Texas wildlife. If you go out searching, a search may include but it is not guaranteed to see:

  1. Birds (turkey, redbird, dove, quail, black bird, sparrow, ducks, geese, owls, hawks, buzzards, some migrating birds, and others).
  2. Fish in our fishing pond include catfish, minnows and perch. * Bring your own gear.
  3. Deer that can be found in our area include Whitetail and Fallow.
  4. Fox that can be found in central Texas are grey and red fox.
  5. Bats can be found in local caves with the most common here is the Mexican fruit bat. The San Antonio weather man reports each night on the weather radar of the bats coming out to feed and returning before day light. They also help control the bugs.
  6. The "garden variety" of skunks can be found here, and they control the bugs.
  7. Small animals include bettles, butterflies, lizards, preying mantis and walking sticks.
  8. Snakes are an in the Texas Hill Country and they do a good job of controlling the populations of other animals. We kindly ask our guests to watch where they are walking. It is good to be aware and careful.
  9. We have even spotted some exotic varieties of animals that may have gotten loose from one of the nearby exotic animal farms or a pet that may have gotten loose.

HERE GUESTS CAN RELAX OR LOUNGE OR TAKE A SHORT WALK to one of our locations under a shade tree with a cold drink. Unwind on the property while feeling the cool breeze of the morning or evening pass through your hair. Some of our rooms have a porch with a rocking chair, or there are areas to enjoy while taking a brisk short walk through the mowed grass, or go fishing at our small pond that is stocked with minnows, perch and catfish (all catch and throw back). We have all of this just waiting for you.

BAR-B-Q PITS AND KITCHENS are available for some of our guests in two of our rooms. Both the Danville Schoolhouse Suite and the Deer Haven Cottage have a full kitchen where guests can cook, and it is included in the room rental. The main house has a pit that is set in the ground, however if guests use the kitchen, we require that the kitchen be cleaned, the trash be removed, and that it ready for breakfast the next morning. A fee may apply for the use of this kitchen, and it must be pre-arranged & reserved.

PLAYGROUND AND ROOM TO PLAY are both a great way for kids and the adults to have fun and relax. We have plenty of room for the young children to run and play, swing on the 2 swings, slide down the 2 slides, throw and catch a ball, toss some horseshoes, setup a washer board, kick a football or soccer ball. Our 43 acres has 3 acres in the front portion that are available for all of our guests. We have a fun and safe location.
